Alameda Restaurant & Compost Blog

Our goal is to visit every restaurant in Alameda, try the food, and ask about composting. We plan to visit a new restaurant every week. We will start with the A-Town Pizza and finish with Zen.
This blog is by:
Greta – Greta is nine and likes swimming, acting and jiujitsu. She has been in ten plays.
Vera – Vera is five and likes swimming, acting and dancing. She has performed in two recitals.
Ruth – Ruth is an aunt of Greta and Vera and likes recycling and composting. She knows Miss Alameda. Actually, we all know Miss Alameda (more on that later).
We all love great food. Here is our story. Jessica Robinson is Miss Alameda. She ran for Miss California USA in 2011 on the platform of reducing global warming through recycling and composting. She has a program called “Miss Alameda Says Compost!” She has recruited 50 restaurants in Alameda to recycle and compost, reducing over 700 metric tons of green house gas emissions.
Greta and Vera have lived in Alameda their whole lives and Ruth has lived in Alameda for over 25 years. We have been to many restaurants, but we always go to the same ones. Our favorites are Juanita’s, Ramiro & Sons, and Yojimbo. But there are so many restaurants that we’ve never been to and now we want to try them all (and help Miss Alameda get them all to compost).
